Our first time at this show, but our fourth state fair of the year. It’s so different attending a state fair in the middle of the week. We had plenty of room and enjoyed the potluck dinner and lunch today.

Ring 1-Jackson Noble
Both kids won their showmanship class and won Bluetooth speakers! We swept the youth show winning best of breed in Alpine and AOP.

It’s A Hill Vespiquen was Reserve champion Alpine junior doe.
Black Cherry was 2nd place/1st udder.
Chaos was 2nd.
Rose was first place 3 year old/1st udder.
Gengar was first place yearling milker.
We had first place produce of dam with chaos and Black Cherry.
Second place best three females with Rose, Chaos, and Black Cherry.

You guys know how much I love supporting youth. You also know that we only raise standard breeds now. Well, when your dairy goat project kids come to you and need help finding a buck, but they don’t have room to keep one…here comes project leader with a solution. Thank you to Melissa with Jackson’s Royal who graciously let us purchase a Nigerian Dwarf Buckling. His dam scored VEEE 91 on linear appraisal. He will reside here while he gets visits from the ladies. Thank you again Melissa!

Salandit is out of Renegade. Salandit freshened in August with B/D twins. We are loving the capacity of her mammary system. She is milk stand trained. Clean tested herd. We have too many milkers and need to keep our numbers low. If you are in need of winter milk this would be a great option!

Our first semi Fall kidding season was epic. All our goats have kidded and we’re excited to say the DOE FAIRY came!

We had four goats kid,and 4 does and 1 buck.
Our first Sable born on the farm, a doe!
3 alpines 2 does, 1 buck
and we have a mystery doe it’s Alpine or a new breed to us Recorded Grade!

Our best doe in our herd Rose, was a late May kid. We love the junior yearling class. Fast forward to 25-26 breeding season and our almost two year old Chaos hadn’t settled after three months. We didn’t want just one doe freshening so we decided to one of our 2025 does, and give her one last shot. She settled and was due yesterday. Another doe that was bred is Salandit who is the littermate sister to our doe Vespiquen who got her Grand Champion (dry leg) at Little Rock this year. As our September and October is filling up with shows we’re excited to add some just freshened does to the lineup.
This does mean we are skipping Ozark Empire this weekend due to kidding. We may be a little crazy for adding a kidding season when our friends are starting to dry their does off. 🤪
