January 19th — Happy 24th work anniversary to our owner Chris! 🎉 He's grown up in "The Store" but joined the payroll in 2002 when he was just 15.

In observance of Memorial Day, Pollard's Meat Market will be closed Monday, May 25, 2026. We will resume normal business hours reopening Wednesday the 27th at 10:00 AM (closed Tuesdays).

We honor and remember those who have served and sacrificed for our country. 🇺🇸

Meet the Owner: Chris Pollard

In December 1986, Chris's parents purchased Pollard's Meat Market in Raytown, MO.

Chris spent a large chunk of his childhood in “The Store” but officially joined the payroll June 19, 2002.. nearly 24 years ago! (Quite the accomplishment considering he’s only 39!) Chris learned to cut meat alongside his dad Dave & late grandpa Bud. Dave retired in 2017, at which point Chris became owner along with his mom Debbie.

On a more personal note, Chris has been married to Tiffany for 9 years (together for 13) & together they look after their four furry family members.. Chewy, Dexter, Luna & Shaka. They enjoy traveling together; in 2026 they plan to visit California (✓), Tanganyika Wildlife Park, Alaska (including Vancouver, BC) & New York!

A few of his FAVORITES include:

🎬 Movie: The Departed
🍺 Beer: Corona Sunbrew
🏞️ Vacation spot: Washington state (same as Tiff)
🥩 And product at The Store: Flat iron steak
