The results are in! It’s time for the annual “Tornado Wrapped”—a look back at another incredible year of flavor. We had a truly outstanding 2025 and are eagerly looking forward to an even more remarkable 2026!

Split Nador BBQ is taking on the American Royal World Series of BBQ from Spot #706 at the Kansas City International Speedway! It is all of our 1st time cooking here and we are excited to get to try our luck at the Royal! Good luck to everyone cooking this weekend and around the world! It’s always a beautiful weekend to smoke some meat!

This is the first time we had come out to Smoke on the Water in Topeka, KS at beautiful Lake Shawnee and it will not be our last! Dustyn and Shawnee County Parks & Rec put on a great contest! Tornado had ourselves a pretty good showing and even got a birthday present for the birthday boy, Brandon, with a 1st place rib call!

Tornado has landed back home, bellies full and hearts happy after an epic weekend at the Jesse James BBQ Cookout in Kearney, MO. It was the perfect mix of smoke, sizzle, and good times with some great friends. We wish we would’ve gotten higher but we got higher than our season average this year, coming in at 17th out of 30 teams! Our hard work paid off with a 10th place walk for our delicious ancillary pork chops—we’ll take it!

Big congratulations to our neighbor on their RGC and to on their GC!

Been a month off since our last one and we are ready to get “Back in the Saddle” with the Jesse James BBQ Cookut in Kearney, MO! Shoutout to Brandon for heading up there and getting everything set up! Good luck to everyone cooking this weekend in Kearney and around the country! Always a good weekend to smoke some meat!

Went to Baldwin City for Smoke on the Bricks 2025 and all we got was a magnet!

It was a tough weekend for Tornado BBQ, we didn’t change a thing, confident in our cook before awards, and then we found out the judges were not fans!

Congrats to Lane (Aww Shucks BBQ) on his Reserve Grand Championship and the dude, Chase, () on his big Grand Championship in a STACKED field! Congrats to all who heard their name called, especially our buddies Split Borders BBQ with their 2nd place 180 dessert! (We love that stuff and love getting the leftovers!) And to our other friends Bourbon Bent BBQ on their chicken and brisket calls!

School is starting so we are going to be out of the comp circuit for a bit but the next comp up for Tornado has us heading to the Jesse James BBQ Cookout in Kearney on September, 19th & 20th! Look forward to seeing a lot out for that comp!
