Yesterday our CEO Brad McNamara had the pleasure of meeting with Rep. Jim McGovern, the Congressman from the 2nd District of Massachusetts. Congressman Jim McGovern is a fierce advocate for food is medicine programs and ending hunger in his district and beyond. Brad was able to share the work we are doing at Morrissey MarketMarket to scale Food is Medicine programs and how Freight Farms has influenced his approach to disrupting the status quo when it comes to health equity. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with Rep. McGovern before speaking at the White House Challenge to End Hunger and Build Healthy Communities today.

What an engaging summit from the HHS on Food is Medicine. The focus is on allowing more access to healthy, delicious food. The collaborative efforts with bipartisan support from and others is so important. As we continue to deliver medically tailored groceries for our partners, we hope more of these discussions continue. There needs to be more support to help local health centers and physicians truly prescribe Food is Medicine programs.

We were honored to be a part of the celebration at to honor and the youth programming. Morrissey Market created food relief boxes with some of the local produce from the farm on the property. These will be donated to families in the community.

The last deliveries are done. Thank you to the MANY people who have placed orders since we announced our pause from home delivery. Some of you are well stocked till the farmers market season starts locally.
