Cedar Barrens Farm We are first time farmers. We are turning 25 acres of forest into our dream farm. This is our journey. We are a growing farm just outside of Murfreesboro, Tn.

Our goal is to lead a simple, self-sufficient way of life. We make things that we love and we know that you'll love them too.

Our herd Queen Dolly is in labor with her 6th calf!

We are watching her extra close this time as she lost her last one for reasons unknown.

Births on the farm are always special and even more so with her since her 1st calf was our first birth on the farm.

Two new things just landed!

HOT BREAKFAST SAUSAGE. Our breakfast sausage with the heat turned up. Same sausage, more attitude.

CHORIZO. Boar-built, smoky, spiced, and a little rowdy. Great in tacos or eggs.

Both are $10 each, made from forest-raised heritage pork right here in Readyville, TN.

SPEAKING OF GETTING OUT OF JAIL...

We have a calf that's about to be released after serving a 9 month sentence!

Our herd QUEEN, DOLLY, is about to give birth sometime soon. We'll be certain to keep you updated.

Also, GREAT NEWS...we have more pork ready to be picked up from the processor TOMORROW!

That means tomorrow we'll be making deliveries of the first round of our BAIL-OUT BREAKFAST BOXES.

Charge: animals at large.

The State thinks our pigs are too free-range.

We posted an outrageous $2000 bond (Why not just a summons instead???) and he's out, with a court date still ahead.

Two "VERY IMPORTANT" corrections from the official record, because apparently accuracy isn't the State's strong suit:

One, Steve is 5'11", not whatever the height chart in this photo is trying to say.

Two, Steve's bond was "ONLY" $2,000. The screenshot says $200,000. If it really was $200k, we'd have had to sell out for 4 years straight to cover that!

Every box, every sampler, gone. We didn't see that coming.

Good news: two more hogs were already at the processor last week. Steve just got off the phone with them (The processor, not the hogs) and they get butchered tomorrow.

We might have meat ready this week!

The Bail-Out Breakfast Box, bacon, sausage, chops... you bought nearly all of it!

We just wanted to say THANK YOU.

Kaloni and I are first-time farmers, and the response has left us a little speechless (and very busy).

The good news: two new pigs are coming back from the processor late this week or early next, and all of our cuts will be restocked.

We're asking for a little patience while we get the shelves full again. Good pork can't be rushed, and neither can the pigs. 🙏

Yes, Steve actually got arrested last night. 🐖

The charge: animals at large (misdemeanor). Apparently our pigs are TOO free range.

We aren't joking.

The bond...you aren't gonna believe this...$2000!

His first court appearance will be November 3rd.

Farmers with pigs raised indoors on concrete would never have this problem.

Our pigs live in the forest and on pasture, and Steve would rather be in trouble for pigs with too much freedom than run a farm where pigs have none.

He's out on bail, so let's talk breakfast!

(Just because we aren't joking doesn't mean we can't have a little lighthearted fun)

The "Bail-Out Breakfast Box":

1 lb of Hamery-Cured Hickory Smoked Bacon
2 lbs of Mild Breakfast Sausage
