What do you do when you're facing the fact that your H**p business will most likely not exist after July 1st?
Well, at least for me, I do all the other things I'm pretty good at doing and see where this new adventure leads me.

Fresh greens (kale, turnip greens, buttercrunch lettuce)and kohlrabi, along with ready-to-eat broccoli salad, potato salad, chicken salad, and 3 types of pimento cheese will be available to purchase at the Rutherford County Farmers Market at Lane Agri-Park this Friday 8am-12pm.
Lots more produce will be coming as the season progresses!

It's looking more like Spring everyday!
And guess what day it is...
Yep, it's my birthday!

Its a wet rainy day in Readyville today. But another False Spring is making a return this coming week!

We still have electricity in Readyville and the pipes haven't frozen. I know not everyone has been so lucky.
I hope y'all stay safe and hopefully warm. The sun warmed up the lab roof enough to slide the ice off. Be careful as things thaw out and watch out for falling ice!

Welcome to 2026!

We hope y'all had a great Holiday season!

I've been getting questions, and thought I'd try to explain.
If anyone in the industry has any newer or more accurate info, or would like to add anything, please let me know in the comments!

We are continuing to face an uncertain future as the regulatory department for H**p Derived Cannabinoid (HDC) products changes hands from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) to the Alcoholc Beverage Commission (ABC).

Tennessee homegrown holds a legacy license issued through the TDA. This license will be expired on July 1st 2026.

We are allowed to continue to operate as we have until that date.

To continue to operate on and after that date, we will be forced to have applied and received a new license with the ABC in order to continue as an HDC supplier in Tennessee.

As it stands today, the new licenses come with new restrictions to how products are sold in Tennessee.

The list of changes is kinda long, but the 2 main hurdles for us will be:

#1) no more online sales or deliveries, and

#2) we can only sell products to distribution companies who hold an HDC distributor license.

HDC products will only be allowed to be sold as face to face transactions in liquor stores and specialty H**p stores. No more grocery stores, gas stations, or any other establishments that do not restrict entry to those who are 21 years of age and up.

We have been in this industry for 10 years and were one of the first companies to have product on store shelves.

As a small vertically integrated company, this is new territory. I'm not sure how this will play out for us and many other small business that have operated in Tennessee for many years now.

But, on a different note, we are no longer required to charge the "privilege" tax on products! [**Edit** now told this isn't true... ]

The new tax structure will charge the retailers in wholesale transactions through their distributors.

So, clear as mud, right?

Yeah, I'm right with ya...
