A lot of people have been asking us how Bella and Buddy are doing, so it’s time to share an update on these two wonderful pups. ❤️ They are doing great! And if I had to say it in just a few words — they are simply amazing. 🥰 Since Bella and Buddy came back to us, we’ve traveled quite a journey together. When they arrived, many ordinary things were unfamiliar, confusing, and sometimes completely unacceptable to them. We basically had to start from the beginning — calmly, patiently, step by step, rebuilding their trust and showing them that no one was going to hurt them. And today I can happily say that we’ve made incredible progress. ❤️ Grooming, which used to be quite an event, is now something they actually love. And ear cleaning… 🤦‍♀️😂 That used to be a real battlefield! Now even that has been understood and accepted. Not with great enthusiasm, of course 🤣, but calmly and without a war. Great Pyrenees owners will understand me: not every Pyr believes that a human has the right to do whatever they please with their ears, paws, or, for that matter, their precious body. 😂 That’s exactly why it’s so important to introduce grooming and handling from puppyhood. And these two will turn three years old this month, so we had a little catching up to do. But the most important change isn’t even about grooming. They have relaxed. They trust us. They know our routine, they know what to expect from us, and they know they are home. Bella is still our playful, mischievous girl with plenty of personality, while Buddy is our calmer, gentle, incredibly affectionate boy. They are very different, but both are absolutely wonderful. ❤️ Sometimes I look at them now and can hardly believe how much has changed. Stories like theirs remind me again just how much patience, consistency, care, and simply time can accomplish. Not everything can be fixed in a day. Sometimes it takes many small steps before a dog learns to fully trust a person again. First, I want to send a big hug to everyone who loves their animals with their whole heart — and an especially big hug to all the wonderful moms and dads of our puppies. 😊❤️
I see how deeply you love them in your messages, photos, and stories. And I think those of us who love animals this way understand each other without needing much explanation.
I have said many times, sometimes jokingly and sometimes very seriously: I love dogs more than I love people. And the older I get, the less I feel the need to apologize for it.
Recently, I returned to the thoughts of Tatiana Chernigovskaya, a prominent Russian scientist and professor known for her work on the brain, consciousness, cognition, and psycholinguistics. She has often spoken about the fascinating inner world of animals and about how much we still don’t understand about what they feel.
Dogs experience attachment, fear, joy, grief, and pain. They recognize our emotions, respond to our sadness, and sometimes seem to know when they have hurt us. How does another species understand our pain and try to comfort us? We still don’t fully know.
And there is another fascinating side to this bond: research has shown that, in some situations, people can feel stronger empathy for a suffering dog than for an unfamiliar adult person.
I understand that completely.
A dog cannot explain what hurts. It cannot understand why it was abandoned, neglected, or treated cruelly. It cannot ask for help. It simply trusts.
And maybe that is what touches me most.
A dog can be hurt by a human and still learn to trust another human again. It can be abandoned and still wait. It can be neglected and still respond to a gentle hand with love.
There is something incredibly touching — and almost unbearable — about that kind of vulnerability.
When a dog gives us its trust, it gives us something precious. And with that trust comes responsibility: to protect it, to be patient, to understand what it cannot put into words, and never to betray the little soul that has placed its whole world in our hands.
The longer I live with dogs, the more I realize that loving them also means making ourselves vulnerable. We accept their complete trust knowing that one day, inevitably, we may have to lose them. And somehow, despite knowing how much that loss can hurt, we choose to love them with our whole hearts anyway.
So yes, I still say it: I love dogs more than I love people. 😊❤️🐾
But maybe that isn’t really about loving people less. Maybe it is simply about how deeply some of us are capable of loving a creature that trusts us completely.

Every customer has a different preference when it comes to the maturity of green walnuts, so please take a moment to carefully review the photos in our listing. If you have any questions or are looking for a specific stage of maturity, we’ll be happy to help you choose the walnuts that best suit your needs.
The fresh green walnut season runs from August through September, and the walnuts naturally change as they mature. In early August, they are at their youngest “milk stage,” with a firm green husk and a small, delicate kernel.
As the season progresses, the kernel naturally grows larger and firmer while the walnut continues to mature. Many of our customers actually prefer these very young walnuts because of their incredibly rich, creamy, milk-like flavor and exceptionally tender texture.

Brody 💚 Our Green Boy Born on December 31, 2024. Litter: Sunny Smile Lumi × Sun Dance Archibald (Archie) Sometimes the most meaningful updates come with just a few photos and a few heartfelt words. Recently, we received a message from Jane, Brody’s mom. “I love him so, so much. He is my best friend. After my husband passed away last June, Brody became my greatest source of comfort. He helps me on the ranch with my cows and keeps the coyotes and wolves away.” This is exactly what we dream of. A tiny fluffy puppy grows into a loyal, dependable companion. Not just a beautiful dog, but a true member of the family. The one who is always there. The one who quietly brings comfort. The one who protects not only the home, but also the heart of the person who loves him. Just look at what an incredible young gentleman Brody has become! ❤️ Strong, confident, noble, yet still carrying that soft, gentle Great Pyrenees expression that is impossible not to fall in love with. It brings us so much happiness to know that our puppies grow up in families where they are loved this deeply. That is where they become more than dogs—they become true best friends. 🥰

The Call of Nature…🤦‍♀️😂 Sometimes Mother Nature reminds us who’s really in charge. 😅 When a girl is in season, there are simply no fences, gates, or barricades that can stop a determined Great Pyrenees. 🙈 With the heat we’re having, all of our dogs are staying inside the house under the air conditioning, which makes keeping everyone separated quite the challenge. On the first photo is our Buddy. Remember him? 🥹 The boy who came back to us terribly underweight, sick, and in heartbreaking condition. Just look at him now! ❤️ He’s healthy, strong, happy… and apparently a genius. 😂 Gates, fences, and even barricades made from chairs don’t stand a chance. Buddy has figured out how to move them, find his way around them, and I’m pretty sure he’s learned how to climb walls too. 🤣 And the lovely young lady waiting behind the gate is our beautiful Cora. 💕 So if you ever think you’ve successfully separated two dogs in love… just know that Buddy has probably already come up with Plan B. 😂🙉❤️

Our Grey Boy is growing up! 🥰 He’s already 39 lbs… and he’s still growing! Looking at these photos, it’s hard to believe this is the same fluffy little puppy who used to run around our puppy yard. ❤️ One of my favorite things about Great Pyrenees is watching them grow up alongside children. There is something so natural about this friendship. A little boy grows taller every year… and right beside him grows his gentle giant. Today they run after butterflies together. Tomorrow they’ll explore the woods, build forts, and make memories that will stay with them forever. And one more thing about Gandalf… He is an incredibly gentle boy. That’s exactly who he’s been since he was a tiny puppy. Kind, calm, affectionate, and simply made to grow up alongside his little human. 🥹❤️ Looking at these photos, I can’t help but smile. This is exactly what Great Pyrenees were made for—to love their family, to watch over their little humans, and simply be there, every single day. Thank you, Brentney, for loving our boy so much and for letting us watch him grow. We are so proud of the beautiful boy he is becoming. ❤️😊

How Do You Measure Love? 🥰 Is it measured in the pounds a growing puppy gains? In muddy paws after another adventure? In the thousands of photos on your phone? Maybe those are simply reflections of something much greater. Love is measured by care. The kind of care that takes time, patience, strength, and a big heart. The kind of care that is a daily commitment, often unseen by anyone else. The kind of care that never gets tired. The kind of care that is always there. The kind that never counts the time, the effort, or the money because nothing matters more than seeing your puppy’s happy eyes. Looking at Otis, we see exactly that kind of love. ❤️ Our Green Boy is growing into an incredibly handsome young Pyr. 🥰 Every new photo speaks for itself. There is so much confidence, trust, peace, and happiness in his eyes. That is exactly what a truly loved dog looks like. There is no greater reward for us than watching our puppies become cherished members of their families. Thank you, Anne and your wonderful family, for your endless love, care, and devotion to Otis.
