Montgomery Place Orchards Farm Market The beehive for our farm and our greater farming community. We are both elated and humbled to share what we consider to be; a unique edible experience with you.

Montgomery Place Orchards Farm Market is a winsome way-side stand at the intersection of 9G and 199 (3 miles North of the Kingston Rhinecliff Bridge). The farm was founded over 200 years ago and has now been operated by Doug and Talea Fincke for over 30 years. Their son Adam, daughter Caroline, treasured employees, and them are inexplicably impassioned by the property and delicious fruits and vegetables it generates. We will continue to make our best efforts to enlighten you to the fascinating miracle of cultivation by so-to-say; taking you along for the ride. We will show and explain to you the amazing metamorphosis of seed, to plant, to tree, to bud, to flower, to fruit, to mouth and hope that you'll find the climax of the whole process as astonishing as we do. Believing in quality over quantity, we are a relatively small operation and do NOT offer pick-your-own or wholesale. We sell only from our farm market and occasionally to several local restaurants such as: Gaskins, Mercato, Serevan, and The Corner.

Come taste some new apples this week!

Many of you know it’s been a tough year for fruitgrowers because of that late April frost, but it has somehow still felt so abundant?!

We’re lucky to have fruit grower friends who help each other out.
Our apple menu is fire this weekend, thanks to Samascott Orchards Fix Farm & Klein's Kill Fruit Farms, A. Bartolotta & Sons + we still have many of our own…

There are few foods I see my mom take her time with. She’s a very busy lady.
But Bartlett pears, she takes her time with. She loves a perfectly yellow-ripe pear and will sit with a sharp knife, taking her time. It’s a perfect fruit and it’s September.
We have a LOT of Bartlett pears this weekend that are ripe or just about about and have lowered the price. You could also buy a whole half bushel (28ish ) for $40 this weekend only.

We also have a lot of Italian prune plums and have special prices on those.
They are good for fresh eating, but also perfect for tarts, galettes, and cakes because their low moisture prevents soggy pastries.

NOW IS THE TIME TO “SAVE THE SEASON” with canning, freezing, pear butters, applesauce, drying, etc.

The veggies are also overwhelmingly abundant & gorgeous right now: greens, roots, broccoli, cauliflower, beans, cukes, & so much more!

Sparrowbush & Magpie are still off til next week, but we get Kingston Bread + Bar and all their delicious pastries today + Le Perche + our own C***R DONUTS.

It’s that magical time of year when summer and fall collide!
Apples are rolling in. Currently from Fix Bros. : Sweet Maia (reminiscent of early Gala) and Gingergold (Linda Fix’s FAVE and a perfect summer apple because it’s so juicy.
We also have our own snappy snacky Chestnut crabapples and our low-key famous DOLGO CRABAPPLE C***R, which is tart & beautiful & can be sipped straight, added to sparkling water, or mixed into cocktails.

This is THE LAST OF THE PEACHES & NECTARINES!

We have LOADS OF JULIET PLUM TOMATOES! which we use for salsa, but are also excellent for saucing, roasting, & freezing. BIG DEALS on these.

We are also doing a 2 for deal on GREEN & WAX beans.

Today is the big big bread & baked goods day.

Dahlias have been showing their pretty faces.

It’s officially tomato season!
Big juicy heirlooms, cherry tomatoes, red hybrid, & a slew of Juliet plum tomatoes (which we love for salsa, but are also great for sauce, roasting, & freezing).

Good morning !
Talea has always said nature doesn’t know about weekends.
Because the peach crop is lighter this year, the nights have been cooler, & for other reasons we can’t control, we still won’t have peaches at the market today.
We’re definitely as sad as you are about that and wish there was something we could do, but Mother Nature is boss.
It’s been such a busy week here at the market and we’re out of a lot of things, but there’s still so much and we’ll be there 9-5.
Today we get Le Perche bread & croissants & Kingston bread, croissants, buns, & cookies.

Peaches are here!
It’s been a pretty brutal year for fruit, and we are so beyond grateful there are still peaches! From our friends at Fix Farm and Klein's Kill Fruit Farms, A. Bartolotta & Sons .
We also have perfect Samascott Orchards blueberries 🫐, first of the season SWEET CORN 🌽, looooaaaddsss of fresh greens, as well as our own cucumbers, eggplant, zucchini, beans, & herbs.

Today is the big bread & baked good day with treats from Magpies on Pink Street , Kingston Bread + Bar , Le Perche Bakery and Bar , & SPARROWBUSH BAKERY .
