Some time ago the late Jim Norine took the time to scan & post all the pages of a Hutchson's Pottery Molds, Inc. catalog. Jim was an encylopedia of knowledge & is greatly missed. Russel "Teddy" Hutchson was chief mold maker at the Red Wing Potteries & was the last employee at the potteries when it closed in 1967. His son, the late Hall of Fame inductee Dave Hutchson was a mold maker alongside his father, Teddy & donated many records, molds, & artifacts to the RWCS Foundation for which we are all extremely grateful. I will be posting copies of Jim's scanned catalog pages along with pointing out my favorites on each page. Due to the number of pages, it will require more than one posting. Hope you enjoy looking at all the different molds as much as I have.

Great annual RWCS convention display showing a yard urn as pictured on the cover of an 1894 Red Wing Stoneware Co. catalog. Red Wing made some fantastic garden ware pieces.

As did former Red Wing Stoneware Co. potter John Nelson born in Red Wing of Swedish parents in 1875 , who began working in the pottery at age 13, then moved to What Cheer, Iowa in 1912. After working for What Cheer Clay Products he eventually started his own pottery. Also pictured here are some of Johnnie's wares in the yard of his pottery as well as the same ram's head handled urn also pictured on the cover of that 1894 catalog sitting on a matching pedestal & hand painted by his son Earl.
