As much as I love hosting concerts at our place, I also have a passion for community dances any and everywhere!!! With our friends at Oxheart Farm, and with help from the Wisconsin Farmers’ Union as well as Land Stewardship Project, we are putting on a square & contra dance at the Town Hall of Bay City, WI, the beautiful town between Hager City and Maiden Rock, on the wisconsin side of beloved Lake Pepin. There was a time when dances were commonplace around here, when there were active and tight-knit rural communities every 5 miles or so, each with their own social events, small businesses, and so on…. We are always meeting local people who tell us their parents or grandparents met at a square dance at the OCGS way back in the day. We hope to host more events like this in the future. P.S. I know the band and they are more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Share widely, hope to see you there!
