“A total of 55 sale reports were included in the 2026 American Gelbvieh Association (AGA) Spring Sale Price Analysis, representing 3,344 bulls and 728 females. Bulls averaged an impressive $9,021, while females averaged $5,689. Compared to 2025, these averages increased by $2,424 per bull and $1,477 per female, highlighting the tremendous demand for Gelbvieh and Balancer® genetics throughout the spring sale season.”

Save the date for June 18, 2026, as the American Gelbvieh Foundation will host the Gelbvieh Gathering at Kinsley Feeders located near Kinsley, Kansas. Attendees will be able to view all cattle participating in the 2026 AGF Steer Challenge and Scale and Rail Contest.

We are officially all turned out. We have had to stretch our herd out pretty thin this year with little grass and little water but we are making the most of it. The Registered Gelbvieh and Balancer cows along with the Embryo Reciept Cows are on the ranch. Great equipment, and horses help us get these girls where they need to go. After being unloaded and paired up, the pairs were all sprayed down with fly spray. Then we drove the cows by horse and ranger to the pasture they will begin the summer in. They are glad to be there.

Turning more cows out to summer range. We were blessed to recieve some much needed moisture this past weekend! Our crew is awesome, along with some pretty great horses. These Gelbvieh and Balancer influenced cattle are now where they want to be.

Spring has been busy! It seems like we sort cattle, check fence, sort some more cattle and check more fence. Then irrigate a little with what water we have. These Gelbviehs' and Balancers' are going to work for the grass this year and we are ready to turn more out!

We were able to do our branding last week! All of our Registered and commercial calves have been doing well! The calves now have the YJ brand on their hip. Our brand is over 100 years old and we are continuing to breed and raise cattle worthy of it. The future is bright for the cattle industry and we hope these little buckaroos will want to carry it on. It takes alot to get everything done and we appreciate family and those involved to do it!
