It all started in a 'Thallu vandi kadai' (oldfashioned food truck) at Saidapet, Chennai... when the seller is left with lot of masal vadai end of day... they planned to make a curry by crumbling the vada...the next day to avoid food wastage ....
As it got famous by it's taste later, ppl started making their own everywhere and the updated recipe is made either making fresh vadai and following the procedure or with steamed paruppu usili instead...
That is why it is called 'Saidapettai vadacurry' 😎
