This Memorial Day weekend, I pause amid the quiet early hours before the grills fire up and the laughter begins, to speak from the heart to each of you, our loyal customers, friends, and fellow Americans who keep our mission alive with every cup you brew.
I am Tim Cruickshank, a retired Navy SEAL and the founder of BoneFrog Coffee. This company was born from a deep conviction: to carry forward the stories of our teammates, to honor their unbreakable legacies, and to make certain their sacrifices echo through generations. Every roast, every bag, is a vessel for that sacred duty.
For those of us who have stood shoulder to shoulder in the darkness, Memorial Day transcends the familiar rhythm of summer barbecues, backyard parties, and fleeting celebrations. It is a hallowed ground of remembrance, a day set apart to honor the brothers and sisters we served with who never came home. There is no deeper covenant than offering one’s life for a cause greater than self, for the fragile flame of liberty, for the men and women beside you in the fight, and for an American way of life worth every drop of blood spilled. “All gave some,” the old adage reminds us, “but some gave all.” In their final acts of courage, they etched an eternal standard of selflessness that humbles and inspires us still.

This is no mere logo or branding, it is a sacred emblem within the SEAL teams, quietly revered as a living tribute to those teammates who laid down their lives in combat. As one who has lost brothers in the surf and sand, I carry the truth that our debt to them can never be repaid only honored through gratitude that shapes how we treat one another, how we serve our communities, and how we defend what matters most.
