Even in the arid west many flocks graze irrigated or sub-irrigated pastures that are ideal for gastrointestinal nematodes. Year two of the Western-SARE funded project looking at the efficacy of sheep de-wormers in Wyoming and Montana is underway. If you or someone you know grazes irrigated pastures, and has had a high incidence of internal parasitism, you may want to participate in this year's study. Participation involves allowing us to come take f***l samples from wormy ewes and lambs. We submit samples to collaborating lab which will provide the level of worm resistance to all classes of sheep dewormer.
