The Red Barn Farm

The Red Barn Farm Almost 100 years old and recently restored for the 21st century.

Our King County Designated Historic Landmark farm sits on 18.1 acres on the north side slope of the Happy Valley 2 miles east of Redmond on SR 202. Established in 1907 by Walter Cooper, the uncle of the famous actor Gary Cooper, the dairy farm operated for 60 years before switching to beef cattle in the late 60s. The farmstead encompasses a gambrel-roofed hay barn built in 1925, followed by a grai

n silo and milk barn built in 1953. The barn has been restored and is available to rent for events. The 100 year old heirloom apple orchard is being restored by budding the trees to new rootstock and officially the 1st two acres are complete. Working towards an organic certification the farm is currently raising hens and has seasonal produce and selling farm fresh eggs and produce at the Sammamish Farmers Market on Wednesday evenings.

Farm update: we’re still waiting for him to discover kindness… It’s moments like this that remind us that beauty and personality do not always go hand in hand. 😬🦃

Brixie Bear 🐻🐾❤️

We lost her very unexpectedly on Thursday.

She wasn’t just part of the farm—she was part of my every day. My shadow, my sidekick, woven into the rhythm of this place in a way that’s hard to explain unless you’ve lived it.

The kind of presence you don’t realize is holding so much of you until it’s gone.

The farm feels different without her.

I have to figure out how to do this without her. 🐾❤️
