Pure joy. The farm is one of my small pieces of heaven that got even better after our daughter dropped Luna off to keep me company while I picked produce to deliver to the ACRS Food Bank: another small piece of my heaven and where I do volunteer work. ❤️WithGratitude

Funai Farm Update August 18, 2026

It was wonderful seeing so many familiar faces and finding out what everyone has been up to since last farming season.

Our deepest heartfelt condolences to customers who shared family losses since last season or are caretakers for loved ones. Wishing everyone peace, comfort, light, strength, and hope…if life wasn’t already hard enough and that is why I chose not to raise any of our prices this year.

We will have the following produce available this week as long as supplies last:

Tosh’s sweet white corn
Pole green beans (one bag)
Beets
Carrots irrigated with sugar water to explain why they are sooo sweet
Kale
Swiss chard (Google Swiss chard Parmesan cheese recipe)
Tomatoes (heirloom)
Zucchini

Please note days and times we will be open/closed below:

Thursday 10 a.m – 5 p.m.
Friday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sunday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

If you have any questions or need anything, please see me at the farm.

Warmest regards and best wishes.

Harvey

Update August 9, 2026.

The ladder will be up this Thursday through Sunday. Anyone ready for some sweet white corn and other fresh vegetables?

I am looking forward to seeing everyone, again.

Thank you for your patience waiting for the farm to open.

Warm weather allowed me to plant the 1st section of corn ten days earlier than last year; however, cold and wet weather afterwards delayed the planting of the 2nd section of corn. We’ll see how that works out later. In 2025 we did not open until August 23rd due to a cold and wet spring.

Will have corn, beets, carrots, pole green beans, kale, Swiss chard, heirloom tomatoes, zucchinis, etc. Supplies of beans and tomatoes will be limited due to opening earlier this season.

Farm will be open as follows:
Thursday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Friday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sunday 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

If you have any questions or need anything, please see me at the farm.

Warmest regards and best wishes.

May 31, 2026. First section of corn thinned and rototilled. Second section of corn broke surface four days ago. Anticipating first picking around mid-August. Temperature drops of 20+ degrees and rain has been a challenge as corn requires warm weather to germinate.

April 7, 2026. Rototilling the winter rye cover crop. Soil and temperatures too cold to plant corn until first week of May or later.

Fresh local produce. Funai Farm and family serving the Sammamish Valley since the 1930s.

If you see the ladder, you have arrived at a piece of heaven and a place of healing and rejuvenation.

Only 5 rows of corn left. If you want to put up some corn for winter, please come sooner vs later.

September 29, 2025 Farm Update.

While I welcomed the much-needed rain, I wish it came earlier in the summer. The field got muddy, the riding lawn tractor and trailer got stuck in the field last week, and I had to hand carry produce to the stand. That was a bit much physically for my old body.

Many thanks for the wonderful conversations, bags for reuse, treats, and supporting our small family farm. I always tell people that we have the best and most loyal customers in the world.

The ladder will be up Thursday and Friday (10 a.m. - 5 p.m.), Saturday (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.), and Sunday (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.).

People are raving over our super-sweet white corn, pole green beans, carrots, champagne grapes, etc.

I will be picking corn in the 4th new section, leaving only one additional section when that is done. If you are going to put up corn for the winter, please do it now vs later as the corn is flying off the table. I already have an order for 6 dozen corn. If you have any questions on how to freeze corn, there are some good videos on YouTube or you can chat with me at the farm on how my dad did it.

We will have the following available:

Tosh's super-sweet white corn
Pumpkins, many varieties priced to move at $3, $5, and $7
Champagne seedless grapes
Pole green beans
Corn stalks, ten stalks for only $5
Carrots irrigated with sugar water (insider's joke)
Beets
Heirloom tomatoes
Japanese eggplant
Kale
Swiss chard, my favorite recipe: swiss chard parmesan cheese recipe - Search (bing.com)
Zucchini

Warmest regards.
