When a tree falls in the pasture… it’s a whole lot of work!! I’m finally getting around to tackling some@of our big tree losses. And this means a chain saw (or 5) and lots of grunt labor. Sounds fun, right? Living in the woods definitely has its perks, but hauling fallen trees out of animal spaces is not one of them 🤪.

I love putting together flowers for our Mothers, and this one has some unexpected surprises. Along with the fantastic poppies from , I have Pepperweed unintentionally grown in my field, a random Echinacea that popped up and some Arugula that bolted. I love using what I have, even the things that aren’t traditional flowers. Though the Ranunculus is holding down that category very well too!!

This is not my first order of lotion, and will definitely not be my last-but it’s an impactful one! I reached out to Mandi about a re-stock timeline, telling her about my dad and his need for some extra skincare right now. Not only was she prompt, but sent some extras without hesitation or extra cost. It really means a lot when you feel like you’re a person to a business you’re buying from. And when they hear what you need and respond in a kind and thoughtful way. As someone who hates gloves and digs in the dirt a LOT, I need all the benefits that come from a product and animal I adore and a farm I love to support!! Thank you for being you, and for your fantastic products! Small farm, big impact indeed.

Real talk. I’m not sure this is what the movie meant, but if Stella gr...

Real talk. I’m not sure this is what the movie meant, but if Stella grew flowers, this is what it would look like to get her groove back. Last year sapped the fun out of it for me. Recovering from c-section #3 (after 40 😬), a new baby, toddler and tween, drought, physical challenges…and then the goats! I had to just throw in the towel. And this year, it wasn’t looking a whole lot more promising. More family challenges popped up and the garden got pushed back again….but here I am! I have been taking one step at a time, one raised bed at a time, one task at a time. And slowly, I’m finding my way back to the joy that comes with my hands in the dirt and helping things grow. Any success that comes with that will be light years ahead of where I was, so I’m going to count that part. No comparisons, just steps forward. So I’ll put on my tunes, pour myself a glass and start some more seeds! I can’t wait to see what grows!!

The garden chores just seem to take longer in these years…but that is just fine with me. I kinda like this slower pace.

When growing tulips, and the weather is unseasonably warm followed by a hard freeze, you harvest as much as possible and keep them cool where you can 😝. One of these days I’ll be cool enough to have a big flower cooler! Either way, these Exotic Emperors are some of my favorites!

It’s that time! I’m positively swimming in eggs. The littlest farmer works very hard to keep his chickens well fed so the girls are repaying him in kind, but it’s too much! Need eggs? Send me a message!

There are many days Nick does the majority of the farm chores, and the chickens know it well 😆. What a man!

Spring plug update! The Stock are happy and thriving! The Delphinium and the Pansies are surviving 🫣. It may have just been too late to plant them. And the Poppies are MIA- definitely too far gone when I put them in. Thanks goodness for perennials like the Dill and the Fennel that never dies 🤗.
