Hi B&R Ranch family!
Last week, Charlotte won Champion Highland at the Jasper County Fair.
It was special, not because of the ribbon, but because it was the first Highland ever shown at our county fair. (This year, Charlotte happened to be the only Highland exhibitor, but every tradition has to start somewhere.)
Today was something different.
At the Indiana State Fair Open Show, Charlotte and her silver heifer walked into the ring and earned Reserve Grand Champion Highland Female.
My favorite picture, though, isn’t the purple banner. It’s Jack sitting quietly in the stands, watching his big sister. Those two have spent countless hours feeding, washing, clipping, hauling, and caring for these cattle together.
Tonight I’m proud of the ribbon. But I’m even more grateful for what these cattle are helping build in our kids.
Some days farming gives you trophies. Every day, if you let it, it builds character.
Congratulations, Charlotte. We couldn’t be more proud. 💜
