The Story Behind Fairy Landing Farm.
Choosing a name for our farm was no small task. We wanted something that captured the spirit of the land, the charm of our beloved Norwegian Fjord horses, and the sense of wonder we felt when we first arrived. These horses, with their gentle nature and striking beauty, seemed almost otherworldly—like something out of a fairytale.
Shortly after purchasing the farm, Carol found herself chatting with a woman at the local farm co-op. Their conversation drifted to summer activities for children, and the woman shared a cherished memory of her aunt. Each summer, this aunt would enchant the children with tales of fairies visiting during the midsummer full moon. She told them that if they left food out, the fairies would come bearing gifts.
Inspired by this magical tradition, we decided to make it our own. Every summer, we set a tiny table high on a platform—just the right size for fairy visitors. On it, we placed the smallest sandwiches and desserts we could craft, with the grandchildren eagerly helping to prepare the feast. In the morning, the children would discover tiny gifts left behind and trails of sparkling fairy dust, proof of the fairies’ visit.
This tradition quickly became a beloved part of our farm’s rhythm, a celebration of imagination, nature, and family. It was only fitting that our farm take on a name that honored this magical ritual. And so, Fairy Landing Farm was born—a place where wonder lands softly, like fairy wings on a summer breeze.
