Due to popular demand, Chef RJ’s Chicken Inasal is now a permanent item on the menu! 🙌

Chicken Inasal is an iconic grilled chicken dish, which originated from the Western Visayas region in the Philippines. Inasal is a Hiligaynon (Ilonggo) word which literally means grilled or roasted. This famous dish is known for its tangy, sweet, and savory flavor, and for its vibrant red orange color from annatto oil.

Our chicken inasal is marinated in a flavorful mixture of ginger, garlic, lemongrass, vinegar, soy sauce, and lemon. It is then smoked and grilled to perfection while basted with annatto oil. Yum! 😋

Happy 3rd Birthday, Malayà! 💚

From pop-up tent to food truck to restaurant, it has been incredibly amazing to watch you grow for the past three years!

Through the ebbs and flows of pursuing this little passion project and developing this small business, Malayà’s loyal supporters & followers have always been THE powerful driving force + source of positivity that is truly like no other!

On behalf of the Malayà family, we would like to express, once again, our deepest gratitude for your constant love and support that continue to propel us forward. We shall persevere in improving and streamlining our procedures in order to ensure a positive dining experience for all of you.

If there is anything we can do to make things better for you, kindly let us know while you are with us. We prioritize our guests’ satisfaction, and we always want to make sure you leave happy and well satisfied. We also know that while we always have the best intentions, things do not go as planned or expected sometimes. Happy 42nd Birthday, Aren! 🥳

We’re always sharing about food, drinks, and events at Malayà. This time, allow me to share a personal post about the man who leads Malayà.

I had the joy of knowing him as my puppy love when we were 10. We’ve been building a life together since we were 20. If there’s someone out there who loves deeply, forgives quickly, gives generously, and serves joyfully, that is definitely Aren.

He does the work behind the scenes, so others would shine. He never tires of helping and supporting, so others would achieve their goals. He says “I got you” confidently, so others would not have to worry about a thing.

I am so grateful for the gift of time and the opportunity to celebrate Aren’s birthday 5/31, our 22nd year together 6/8 (+ 15th wedding anniversary), and Nanay Poon’s heavenly birthday 6/10. Aren found a way for our family to celebrate for a week in the Philippines, and managed to finish Ironman 70.3 in Subic Bay. Once again, the experience showed us how preparation, perseverance, and purpose are absolutely necessary, not only in a triathlon, but most importantly in life.

To Aren Rey, who never cease to amaze me after all these years and to drag me into his crazy ideas (that always turn out to be a wonderful idea, just like Malayà), I am honored to be your wife, the mother of our children, and your partner in life.

We wish you great health, safety, genuine joy, and peace of mind! Happy Birthday, MyLove 💗
