Evacuees or staycationers? 🙈😆

With last week’s , our Malayà Family found beauty in a time of distress. Four households, including ours, had to evacuate. It was amazing to witness how these wonderful people we work with and their families truly cared for each other.

Our deepest gratitude to Miguel and Angel for stepping up and for ensuring we all had a safe place to stay. Of course, we had to celebrate our time together with a bbq dinner! Thank you to Chef Pablo and his family for making the initiative and taking the lead on this. Thank you to EVERYONE for being a blessing to each other!

🌴🎲 Did You Know? Sungka is more than just a game—it’s a fun piece of Filipino history!

Played for generations in the Philippines, Sungka is a traditional two-player board game played on a long, boat-shaped wooden board with 14 small holes and two larger “houses” at either end. Players use shells, seeds, or small pebbles as playing pieces. 🐚

The goal? Move your pieces counter-clockwise around the board and collect as many as possible in your own large “house.” A little strategy, a little luck, and a whole lot of fun! 😄

More than just a game, Sungka is a beloved tradition that has brought family and friends together for generations. 🇵🇭
