2025 was a different kind of year for us here at Alson Farms.

You know what was the same though? The kindness and enthusiasm of our friends and neighbors, our farmers market folks and loyal apple customers.

The thing that didn't change at all was how awesome you all are. How curious you were about the varieties we had this year and your willingness to try something new (like an Arkansas Black!). Thank you for all the ways you kept this apple thing fun and personable and occasionally delightful, all of which are why we do it at all.

Now's the time when the orchard takes a rest and so do we (from picking, processing, and delivering, anyway!).

Wishing you and yours a peaceful winter and a very happy year ahead. 🍎🍏

But first, big thanks to the Rensselaer Farmers Market and all our fellow market vendors for bringing the good stuff, week after week, rain or shine or sudden wind storm. 💚

To our market regulars: You make all the growing and picking and sorting and bagging and hauling and posting worth it. Thanks for putting up with us and for loving the lowly Malus domestica as much as we do. ❤️

But enough with all that mushy stuff. 😜

With cooler temps and November on the way, we're in the mood for warm apple crisp, baked apples, and Dutch apple pie.

What a lineup of fresh fall foods! You can't go wrong with anything Perkins' Good Earth Farm grows or offers, but we have some favorites: salads, soups, juices (never thought beets were our thing til we tried their beautiful magenta juice!), muffins, carrots & Black Garlic Ranch dip to go with it.

For our friends in Rensselaer: Perkins' is a quick drive up 231and well worth the trip. Check them out!
