I often get questions about drinking water equipment for your home. When I first got started in 1991, I sold and serviced this equipment. As time went on, I moved away from this type of equipment for one reason "safety".

I did not feel I could insure the safety of the water coming out of the units. They are easily contaminated and even though I can buy them at cost for myself, I choose not to use them. If you have ever had to do a bacteria test for a well and gotten a false positive just by mishandling the test bottle you will know what I mean. If you choose to use one, test it yearly for bacteria at the hospital and have the filters changed per the manufactures specs. Happy New Year.

As the time change approaches remember to change the batteries in your smoke detectors.

It is a good time to clean your water coolers, add a cup of chlorine to your salt tank to sanitize your softener, chlorinate your wells.
