If you're responding to this Craigslist ad, you're being scammed. DON'T send money.
We've had 3 people reach out in regards to this ad. The scammers are using our name and address to fabricate an invoice for cattle that don't exist. One was selling goats as well.
Look at the writing on the wall:
- You couldn't buy a 3 legged bottle calf in this market for $400
- "Angus" aren't red and don't have white faces
- calves born "over the weekend" aren't 400 pounds
- the ad says Rochester, but the invoices say Rensselaer
- No livestock producer is going to require payment BEFORE you come look at the animals
- DON'T buy cattle sight unseen
- I don't know a single quality producer that markets on Craigslist (I didn't even know Craigslist still existed until today)
My grandpa once told me "If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is."
