Ag in the classroom for 102 4th graders and the Primary Basics students today. They learned all about 🎃 PUMPKINS 🎃. The 4th graders played a life cycle matching game, tested their knowledge about the anatomy of a pumpkin and watched a video about how pumpkins grow on a large scale. The primary kids listened to a story From Seed to Pumpkin and got to see and touch the inside of a pumpkin! All the students received some tasty roasted pumpkin seeds and got to take home a pumpkin or gourd donated by Kohlhagen Farms!

Ag in the Classroom this week for 110 2nd graders.
We talked about the pumpkin life cycle and about all different types of pumpkins, I read the 2026 Indiana Farm Bureau Book of the Year, The Pie that Molly Grew, we watched a short video on pumpkins field to can and everyone got to pick out a gourd to take home. Each teacher got a pumpkin to carve into for their class.

It’s that time of year again! The Jasper County Farm Bureau Board is excited to offer our Mini Teacher Grants for the 2026–2027 school year!

If you are a teacher—or know a teacher—who could benefit from additional funding for a classroom project, we encourage you to complete the application and submit it for consideration. We have 4 - $250 grants ready to be used!

Agriculture can be incorporated into every area of education, including reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and even the specials! We want to encourage teachers to think outside the box and share their creative ideas for bringing agriculture into the classroom.

We can’t wait to see the innovative ways our local educators will inspire students through agriculture! 🍎🌾

Applications are now being accepted. Please share this opportunity with a teacher who may benefit!

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who joined us last night for our Jasper County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting at Fenwick’s Restaurant!

We truly appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedules to enjoy a wonderful meal, fellowship with fellow Farm Bureau members, and celebrate our shared commitment to agriculture and our community.

Your continued support and dedication to the agricultural community mean so much to us. We are grateful for each of you and the important role you play in helping strengthen agriculture in Jasper County.
