Cod Season is underway! We have fresh Cod available as weather permits from our Cook inlet facilities and freezing IQF fillets for sale or further processing.
• Fresh fillets will be available throughout January, but the peak of the season is February and March. This is due to greater vessel participation. Despite that, weekly volumes in January are large enough to support ad business.
• Historically the first week of February through the first week of April are the heaviest production periods.
• Almost all our vessels are fishing within a 24-hour window, harvest to dock.
• Because of this and close access to the Anchorage airport daily shipments of fresh fillets are usually available.

Today on World Food Day, E&E Foods is kicking off their Drive for donating Seafood Portions to those around the world. Every Year E&E Foods joins in the fight against hunger with SeaShare to donate millions of seafood portions. We thought what better day to get motivated and donating than on World Food Day, when the theme is “Right to foods for a better life and a better future” with the current climate and rising families in need of nutritious food, there is no better time to help fight back against hunger.

To kick off Seafood Month E&E Foods held a taste testing between different types and COO’s of everyone’s favorite red meat, Salmon.

This is what we found:
- Canadian Atlantic Salmon was the mildest on flavor and taste.
- Sockeye Salmon has the most red color in its flesh when finished cooking, followed very closely by Farmed Coho Salmon.
- Canadian Atlantic has higher oil content of the Chilean Competitor.

Whether you prefer Farmed or Wild Salmon they are both still great sources of Omega-3 Fatty Acids, Protein, Vitamins, and Minerals. Eating Salmon on a regular basis can increase Heart Health, Reduce Inflammation, Improve Brain Health, and Increase Heart Health.
