We love a good cookie around here too. And if you want buttery, chewy, gooey chocolate chip cookies with those crisp edges, this recipe is perfect for you. I’m really a stickler when it comes to baked goods so I have adjusted this recipe several times over until it was perfect to me.
Grab two bowls, a whisk, spatula, a cookie scoop and away we go!
2 cups butter (melted and cooled)
2.5 cups Dark brown sugar
1.5 cups White sugar
4 eggs
8 tsp vanilla
2 tsp baking soda
3 tsp salt
6 cups flour (spooned and leveled. Do not pack your flour.)
2 12-oz bags of chocolate chips. Milk, dark, bittersweet, semisweet, or a combination.
In one large mixing bowl, melt and cool your butter. Add in your sugar and whisk well. Mix in the eggs and vanilla. Mix all ingredients until well incorporated but beware over mixing. In your second bowl, combine your dry ingredients (salt, flour, baking soda) and whisk together. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until incorporated. Dump in your chocolate chips and mix.
Bake at 375 degrees for 10-14 minutes depending on your oven, the size of your cookies, and how you like your cookies. Make sure they’re not too big. I use a 2 Tbsp cookie scoop. My perfect cookie has golden brown edges and a pale brown gooey center 👌🏽.
