We would love to know what topics you’re interested in!

Drop a comment below with a question about anything you’ve been wanting to learn, big or small! Maybe it’s something you’ve tried before but want a clearer, step-by-step walkthrough for. Or just curious on how we do something specifically.

Ask us your questions, something like “How do you save seeds”, “How do you prune tomatoes?”, “What do you use in your chickens nesting boxes?”, “What is the basics of raising rabbits?”, “How do you harvest Thyme?”, “What fertilizer do you use?”, “Can you show us how you make smoked paprika?”, “How do you can your tomatoes?”, “How do you make infused salts and sugars?” Etc.

This page is for you, ask us, we love teaching! Tell us your question and we’ll create a post with the answer!

Sharing a quick shout-out to my husband, Bill! 🎉

For the past few months, he’s been teaching a cottage food class through a local nonprofit in Springfield, and honestly, it’s incredible work.
He’s helping refugees from all over the world (families who speak Dari, Swahili, Ukrainian, Arabic, Spanish, and more) learn food safety and licensing so they can turn their homemade cooking into real income for their families.

Think about that for a second. People who left everything behind, building a new future here through the one thing they carried with them: their food, their recipes, their culture. And Bill gets to be part of that story, showing up and pouring himself into helping them succeed.

I am beyond proud of this man. I love you babe!! 🧡

Picking Yellow Pear Tomatoes!

This heirloom variety has been growing in gardens since the 1800s, and it’s easy to see why it’s stuck around. Small, pear shaped, and bursting with a mild, tangy flavor. With their less acidic taste these little tomatoes are a garden favorite for snacking straight off the vine.

One plant can produce hundreds of tomatoes all season long, making it perfect for salads, roasting, or a quick treat. Since it’s open pollinated, you can save the seeds and grow it again next year, just like gardeners have been doing for generations.

Have you grown Yellow Pear tomatoes? Tell us how you like to use them! 👇

Go check out Buchele’s Homestead !

The main things they have to offer is Nigerian dwarf goats, chicks, guineas, meat rabbits and eggs. In the future they will be selling pigs.

She is currently considering offering baked goods. Breads, muffins, cookies etc she hasn’t offered any of that in the past so stay tuned, looks like there’s lots to come still!

Just harvested another good haul of tomatoes and peppers.
