Today isn't just my birthday.

Today is proof that God still writes beautiful stories.

Happy 39th Birthday to me. 🎉👑

If you've followed my journey, you know Yae's Eats and Catering LLC didn't come from privilege, investors, or someone opening doors for me.

It came from pain. It came from loss. It came from starting over more times than I can count.

I've buried dreams. I've buried loved ones. I've cried tears nobody saw. I've smiled while my heart was breaking. I've worked events exhausted, grieving, and uncertain about what tomorrow would bring.

But I kept going.
I kept cooking.
I kept building.
I kept believing.

Because every setback became seasoning for the woman I'm becoming.
Twenty years ago, I was just a woman who loved feeding people.

Today, I'm the owner of an award-winning catering company serving clients across multiple states, creating unforgettable experiences, and building a legacy that my family can be proud of.

But my greatest accomplishment isn't the awards.
It's surviving.
It's getting up every time life tried to knock me down.
It's refusing to let heartbreak have the final word.
It's choosing faith over fear.
It's becoming the woman I once prayed to be.

At 39, I'm not chasing perfection.
I'm chasing purpose.

I'm stronger. I'm wiser. I'm more grateful. I'm more intentional. And for the first time in a long time, I'm fully embracing the woman in the mirror.

To everyone who has booked with me, referred me, encouraged me, prayed for me, supported Yae's Eats & Catering, shared my posts, or simply believed in me when I didn't believe in myself...

A few weeks ago, I sent a quote for a family reunion. They thanked me for my time, but ultimately decided to go in a different direction because they felt my pricing was higher than they expected.

A week or so later, another family reunion inquiry landed in my inbox. I won't lie, I considered lowering my price just to secure the booking. As business owners, we all have those moments. Bills don't stop, and this isn't a hobby for me—it's my career.

But instead, I sent my quote based on my experience, the quality of my food, and the level of service I provide.

Their response?

They paid the invoice in full the very same day and said they had been hoping to book with me.

No haggling.
No negotiating.
No asking for discounts.

Just trust in the value I bring.

The lesson? Don't let people who don't see your value convince you to lower it. The right clients won't make you prove your worth over and over again. They'll recognize it, respect it, and book accordingly.
