Goodbye radishes! We have two beds of our hoop house turned over, radishes were harvested and now we planted carrots, cucumbers and watermelon. We're going to be drowning in carrots this year. 🌱❤️

I knew the goats would knock over their sign, I didn't anticipate that Astrid would lick the sign. She tried to erase Twyla's name, go figure. These two have been frenemies for years.

Got kids going stir-crazy from this week of rain? Same!

My 3 year old has been declaring everything as “so boring." My 5 year old has had so much extra energy I can't keep up with everything she wants to do. The teenager has been playing the new Taylor Swift song on repeat (it's catchy and I can hear it in my dreams, I swear.) On top of all of that, the baby is teething and we're running on no sleep. If your house is feeling just as cooped up, pack up the kids tomorrow morning and come on over to School Yard Acres! The weather should be so much nicer, goodbye boredom!

Visiting the homestead is a quick, fun morning activity that gets everyone out of the house, but won't take up your entire day.

WHEN: Tomorrow (Saturday) from 8:00 AM – Noon

WHERE: 6622 Fire Tower Road, Rhinelander (The old schoolhouse)

WHAT'S HAPPENING:

Pet the Herd: The dairy goats will be out, and baby Poppy is ready for visitors!

Fresh Treats: Our farmstand will be open and stocked with scratch-made cookies and fresh farmhouse bread.

Produce: We'll have salad mix lettuce perfect for a light lunch (This is great topped with air fried chicken nuggets that we know we all have on hand!) lots of farm fresh eggs and more.

Homestead Goods: Take a peek at our fresh batches of goat milk soap, hand-crocheted items, and leather bookmarks, blind date with a book and more.

Skip the boredom tomorrow morning, grab a cookie, and let the kids burn off some energy saying hi to the goats! We can't wait to see you!

I thought it would be fun to introduce you to some of the animals on our farm.

Meet Astrid, one of our 4 year old Nubian goats. When we brought her home we didn't have any goats her size so we put her in with piglets and I'm pretty sure she thought she was a pig. We joke that she doesn't know how to be a goat. She's goofy, always acting like she's starving, and always yelling.

Head down to the farmstand this weekend to meet Astrid and her pals! ❤️

We came home from a walk to find one of our barn cats, Batman, in our egg carton return. He looks like a menace, he was mid-yawn. Batman was definitely named by our 3 year old.

See you all on Saturday when our farmstand is full of goodies! Maybe you'll even catch a glimpse of nananananana Batman.

Psst, AJ taste tested the salad mix and radishes yesterday in a salad with some homemade goat cheese (that's definitely not for sale). Did he make a salad so large that he used a mixing bowl? Maybe. He gave it a giant 5 out of 5 stars.

Open until noon today! Come on over, give our goats some pets (farmstand day is their absolute new favorite day of the week!) We have everything from farm fresh produce to adorable handmade gifts!

New this week: salad mix, arugula, and spinach!

All crochet is made by our 13 year old! She does such an amazing job. We're so proud of her!

As always we have soap handmade with goat milk, wax melts, firestarters and more!
