We have no idea how long these have been laid so these will be recycled for feed but if anyone has any advice of getting them to all lay in the boxes please let us know. They are staying in the trailer a little longer today seeing as we are having cooler weather and hoping they will all lay in the boxes.

And yes she laid her first egg not even 20 minutes later. It really is as simple as pulling a old stock trailer out to the pasture and throwing some chickens in it. If you have thought about getting started with some chickens (the gate way animal) just give us a holler and we will help the best we can.

The things I and my partners in crime (the kiddos) get us into 😅 we now have 83 chick's/chickens on the place. No worries they are not all for us we are helping to rebuild a flock for Grandpa also plus 14 or so are roosters that will be for meat. We will be doing free-range with some on the farm using a old stock trailer for the coop and moving them into the pasture after the cows have been moved out while trying intensive grazing. Hoping it works well and we are able to keep creatures out of the flock. Has anyone used the automatic chicken coop doors before? Curious if anyone has and what your thoughts are on them.

When you look at crop ground with new eyes.
Greg and I were out walking the bean field today checking to see how it was going. Looking good so far. The biology of your soil is very important to having healthy soil with minimal fertilizer, less compaction and less erosion.
