Deer Creek Fiber Farm Deer Creek Fiber Farm
Colored Angora Goats and Mohair Hello! Welcome to Deer Creek Fiber Farm! Mohair is one of the softest, strongest fibers in the world.

Started in 2010 with a handful of Angora goats, Deer Creek Fiber Farm is a family owned and operated local business, dedicated to raising goats sustainably and providing you with high-quality fiber. We raise white and colored Angora goats, each goat grows about 1 inch of mohair (fleece) every month which is then shorn off and sold as raw fleece, roving, yarn, or a finished product. It can withstan

d years of wear and tear, and unlike wool or other animal fibers, when stretched mohair returns to its original shape. Finer mohair is usually turned into garments, while coarser mohair is sometimes turned into things like saddle cinches for horses! White and light-colored mohair may be dyed, but the darker mohair is usually left to its own natural beauty. White Angora goats are more common than naturally colored Angora goats, about every 1 out of every 5,000 Angora goats is naturally colored. Some naturally colored goats are patterned.
