One of the best parts of what we do is getting to turn business trips into family memories.

This week’s delivery route brought us all the way to New England, and with the fall colors in full swing, we couldn’t pass up the chance to stop at a local apple orchard in New Hampshire and pick a few apples!

A few thousand mallards ready to roll out!

Hunt tests, field trials, and shooting preserves- we are keeping them moving from coast to coast!

One year ago today, everything changed in a matter of seconds.

We were involved in a horrific car accident that left Lena with an injury we could hardly comprehend. Her femur had been driven through the back of her pelvis, and she needed major surgery to put everything back together.

Right before they took her into surgery, the surgeon sat down with us and told us just how bad it was. He told us she had a long road ahead of her and that it could be at least six months before she could really put pressure on that leg.

Then I watched Lena spend the next several months proving just how strong she is.

Through everything that happened that day, the surgery and the pain that followed, I never saw her cry once because of the physical pain. She just kept pushing forward.

About a month later, she was already getting around with a cane.

Then the walker disappeared. The cane disappeared. Every week brought another little piece of normal life back. Before long, we were traveling again, walking beaches, exploring mountains, working around the farm, raising our three kids and doing the things we love.

Looking through these pictures a year later is pretty incredible. From lying in a hospital bed with hardware holding her pelvis together, to standing beside me all over the country like none of it was ever going to slow her down.

Lena is the strongest woman I have ever known.

Not because it didn’t hurt or because it wasn’t hard, but because she refused to let the one of the worst day of our lives decide what came next.

We’ve traveled a lot of miles together, but watching her fight her way back might be the greatest journey I’ve ever witnessed.

One year later. Still traveling. Still making memories. Still going. ❤️
