Sincerest congratulations to Robby and Shannon Dygert of Dygert: Creamery, Farm & Store ! Their chocolate milk took home first place and gold honors in the 2026 New York State Dairy Products Competition at the Great New York State Fair on Dairy Day, September 3. It’s a sweet win for a hardworking dairy family. 💙🥛
And this isn’t their first trip to the winner’s circle. Their Palatine Bridge, NY, on-farm creamery has been recognized repeatedly in the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets Dairy Products Competition — a testament to their consistency and commitment to delivering high-quality dairy products.
The Dygert family’s farming roots date back to 1723, and Robby and Shannon are carrying that legacy forward as the 13th generation. They returned to the family farm in 2009 and are growing the dairy alongside their four school-aged children.
With the 14th generation in mind, they wanted to build something more sustainable for the future. In 2015, they began delivering locally bottled milk with a bigger vision: to someday process milk from their own cows right on the farm. They built their processing plant in 2019 and began bottling their own milk in 2021.
But ribbon or no ribbon, this is the kind of family whose grit, perseverance, innovation and commitment to producing high-quality dairy products gives a nearly 300-year farm the chance to keep moving forward — from the 13th generation to the 14th and beyond.
And you’ll be hard-pressed to find them bragging about any of it. Award or not, they bring the same level of care, consistency and excellence to what they do every day. Like so many of the farmers we meet across New York.
