Hunters that has hunted this mythical specie called
Bongo in their natural habitat will support my next statement…..
Bongo hunting is mentally and physically one of the most challenging and draining safaris a hunter can embark on.
Hot… Humid…. A lot of time spent driving between salt licks on bad roads without seeing much more than plants and trees and the occasional Gorilla or duiker darting across the road.
Most of the time when you do find a track, so many different factors need to fall in place to ensure a successful hunt. 90% of the time they don’t and it is back to square one. This can carry on for a couple of days or to the last day…. Yet it can change in one minute so there is always hope!
Every time we hunt a beautiful trophy like this we are reminded that how privileged, lucky and blessed we are to be able to produce a trophy to our hunters that entrusted us with their time and money.
Hunting the forest in Cameroon or any part of the world is never easy or a guarantee but teaches one resilience, patience and appreciation.
One more hunt to go for our forest season….
