Obituary of Samuel Mattison | Foster-Hax Funeral Home

We are sad to share that we lost Mark’s father earlier this week. He was a hard-working farmer, dedicated to his family and his farm. Our farm would not exist as it is today if he had not been the man and the farmer that he was. We invite you to read below to learn more about him and the history of our farm.❤️

Samuel Arthur Mattison, of Altmar, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, July 11, 2021, surrounded by his loving children and wife, due to a short but valiant battle with liver disease. Samuel, known to many as “Arthur”, and to others as “Red”, “Sam”, “Uncle Sam”, and even .....

Well, it was a long day, a bit hectic at times, but overall a success! We still have a few orders to be picked up, but the chickens are officially sold out. Thank you to all our customers for your business and your patience!🍗😊

We have whole broiler chickens going in for processing next Saturday 6/12/2021. They are $3.50/lb. and run 5-6lbs. each. This includes all processing fees and they can be picked up at our farm on that date. They come fresh and vacuum sealed. They are naturally raised, easy to prepare, and delicious!

UPDATE: There seems to a delay in the processing. It will probably be more like 6 or 7 tonight before they can be picked up. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Today’s the day-chickens will be ready! We’re thinking they will be done and back to our farm ready for pickup about 4-5 this evening. We have extra this year, so if you are interested please message us.
