This is my LGD Butch. He watches over our sheep herd. His is nine or 10 months old. Today I go out to feed and check animals and was missing a week old lamb. I find the lamb in another pasture separated from the flock. The is Butch, guarding the lamb. There are 2 big hawks, 1 big brown eagle and 6 or 7 buzzards all in the trees just waiting for a chance at the baby lamb. Butch is running at them and the circling back to lamb. Never letting the baby out of his site. I was able to catch the baby and take her back to flock. Butch is the best investment I ever made. Amazing dog!
