Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865—the day enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas finally learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. This week, we celebrate freedom, resilience, excellence, and the continued journey toward equality.

As a Black woman-owned business, Juneteenth is more than a holiday—it’s a reminder of how far we’ve come, the shoulders we stand on, and the importance of supporting and uplifting one another in our communities.

This week, MiMi’s Sweet Thangs is bringing the Sweet Experience to multiple Juneteenth celebrations across RVA! Whether you’re shopping local, enjoying live music, supporting Black-owned businesses, or simply spending time with family and friends, I hope you’ll stop by and celebrate with me. 🧁💕

Today’s featured brownie is my Dark Chocolate Walnut Turtle Brownie 🍫💕

And babyyyy… this one is GOOD! 😍

What a beautiful way to end the week! 💕☀️🎶

A huge thank you to all of my sweeties who came out to support me at Vibes at Sunset at Libby Hill Park hosted by .

There is truly something special about overlooking the beautiful city of Richmond, listening to great music, connecting with amazing people, and enjoying a summer evening together. The energy throughout the crowd was absolutely incredible. ✨

One of my favorite parts of the evening was seeing so many familiar faces, especially some of my VA Hospital Sweeties who came straight from work to support me. 🥹💗 Y’all have no idea how much that means to me. Some people even stopped by and said, “Oh my God, you’re everywhere!” 😂

I am so grateful for every purchase, every conversation, every share, and every person who stopped by the pink tent.

A special thank you to for continuing to support small businesses and creating such amazing community events. This marks my third year participating in your events, and I’m honored to have been part of the season opener. I can’t wait to return next month July 16th from 5 PM–9 PM! 🎶✨

🎉 MiMi’s Sweet Celebration Update:
I know many of you are waiting on the vendor lineup! I’m still working through vendor approvals, payments, and final confirmations. If you haven’t heard from me yet, you’re currently on the waitlist. I’ll be reaching out this weekend and hope to have the official vendor lineup announced next week. Trust me, it’s going to be the SWEETEST one yet! ✨

📅 Pop-Up Availability:
Believe it or not, I don’t have many open pop-up dates left this season! I currently have July 19th and possibly July 20th available. If you know of any events looking for a dessert vendor, send them my way! 💕

🧁 What I’ve Been Up To:
If you’ve noticed fewer pop-ups lately, it’s because many weekends have been filled with personal orders, weddings, bridal showers, dessert bars, birthday celebrations, and private events. Last year I completed nearly 200 pop-ups (which is absolutely bananas 😭😂), so this season has looked a little different—and I’m grateful for every opportunity.

One of my favorite things to do outside of baking is speaking to young minds about entrepreneurship 💕🧁✨

This week, I had the pleasure of visiting for Career Day, but this wasn’t your typical “What do you do?” presentation.

These students are spending the summer developing their own products and services and will be hosting their very own vendor market in August! 😍✨

So instead of simply talking about my business, I got to show them what it actually takes to be a vendor. We talked about displays, marketing, branding, customer service, taking payments, inventory, shopping for supplies, using Canva, ordering materials, and all the little details that go into creating a successful setup.

And let me tell y’all… these kids came READY with questions! 👏🏿💕

“How did you know to buy that?”
“Where did you get your signs?”
“How do you create a website?”
“How do people pay you?”

The questions were thoughtful, engaging, and honestly reminded me why I love doing events like this so much. Seeing their curiosity and excitement was absolutely priceless.

What I loved most is that isn’t just teaching children about careers—they’re teaching them how to think creatively, problem solve, build confidence, and explore entrepreneurship at an early age. That’s powerful. 💗

And of course, the owner surprised the students and staff with MiMi’s Sweet Thangs treats, so the kids got to enjoy the products after learning about the business. Their faces lit up when they realized the desserts weren’t just for display 😂🧁💕

A huge thank you to for inviting me. I can’t wait to come back in August to shop the students’ vendor market and see all of their hard work come to life.
