💕 THANK YOU, CHARLOTTESVILLE! 🧁✨

A huge thank you to Darling x Dashing Boutique for having MiMi’s Sweet Thangs to bring all the sweetness to your Vintage Street Market today! 🛍️💕 I’m so grateful for the opportunity to pop up in a new space, meet some new Sweeties, and of course see everyone who stopped by to support my small business.

I also want to apologize for having to pack up and leave a little earlier than planned. I actually woke up this morning not feeling my best and seriously contemplated staying home. But if you know me, you know I HATE canceling at the last minute, especially when an event organizer is expecting me. Plus, this baker had a whole lot of freshly baked goodies ready to go! 😂🧁 So I got myself together, loaded up the Sweet Shop, made the drive to Charlottesville, and stayed as long as my body would allow me. I didn’t get as much content and photos of my sweeties, as I hoped for but my energy was getting the best of me. 🙃😆

Sometimes entrepreneurship looks like showing up even when the day doesn’t go exactly as planned. 💗

And nothing is going to waste! 🙌🏿 The remaining cupcakes, cookies and brownies will be donated to the Black Girls RVA Bake Sale, so the sweetness will continue serving an amazing purpose in our community. 🫶🏿

🧁💕 SWEETS WITH A PURPOSE — GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY! 💕🧁

One thing about MiMi’s Sweet Thangs — community will ALWAYS be at the heart of what I do. 💗 I truly believe that when we have an opportunity to pour back into the people and organizations doing meaningful work in our community, we should.

This Sunday, I’m honored to support Black Girls of RVA and their Bake Sale Fundraiser benefiting their Holiday Scholarship Gala! 🎓✨

MiMi’s Sweet Thangs is donating custom 4-pack cupcake boxes filled with some of your favorite flavors for you to purchase at the bake sale! 🧁🎀 And the sweetest part? The proceeds will go directly toward supporting Black Girls RVA and the work they’re doing within our community, including their scholarship efforts. 💕🎓

🧁💕 Sometimes the sweetest part of my pop-ups has nothing to do with the desserts.

While I’m over here preparing a banana pudding order, one of my regular Sweeties stopped by and, as usual, we got to chatting. 😂💕 She gave me a little life update, told me what brought her to the VA that day, and of course tried something new while she was there.

I’ve realized that being your go-to mobile dessert vendor apparently also comes with being a listening ear. 😂 And I truly don’t mind! People will walk up, grab a treat, and next thing I know…we’re talking about LIFE. Okay?! 😂

Maybe I just have one of those “girl, let me tell you what happened…” faces. 🤣

But I genuinely enjoy hearing people’s stories and connecting with my Sweeties beyond the transaction. Sometimes I can offer advice, recommend a resource or another local business, and sometimes people simply need somebody to listen. Community has always been a huge part of what MiMi’s Sweet Thangs is about. 💗

And meanwhile…that banana pudding is getting DONE! 😂🍌

You can grab a cup at my pop-ups or order a personal pan when you need that banana pudding fix all to yourself. Because yes, it’s STILL one of the fan favorites! 😋

🖤✨ Celebrating Black Business Month in the City of Richmond!

A special thank you to Richmond City Hall and the Office of Equity & Inclusion for creating such a meaningful event celebrating and supporting Richmond’s Black-owned businesses.

This was so much more than a pop-up! It was an opportunity for us to connect, ask questions, share our experiences as small business owners, learn about available resources, and have real conversations about how the City can better support our growth. As I continue expanding MiMi’s Sweet Thangs, I especially appreciated learning more about supplier opportunities, contracts, and ways my business can work with the City. 💼🧁

Of course, seeing and catching up with some of my favorite fellow business owners made the day even sweeter! 💕

AND I finally got to experience the Richmond City Hall Observation Deck! 🏙️ The weather was beautiful, the city views were gorgeous, and it made the perfect backdrop for a pop-up. If you haven’t visited yet, definitely add it to your RVA list!

🏙️✨ Richmond has its own sky-high view, and honestly… more people need to know about it!

Today I had the opportunity to host my pop-up shop at the Observation Deck at Richmond City Hall, and I was pleasantly surprised by how cool the entire experience was! We always hear about observation decks like the Space Needle, Chicago Skydeck, or the Empire State Building—but Richmond has its own version right here in the city! 🙌🏿

The views are beautiful, there’s seating where you can sit, relax, enjoy lunch, and really take in the city from above. It’s such a simple but unique experience, and I’m already planning to bring my kids back one day.

If you’re local or visiting Richmond, definitely add this to your list of things to check out. This photo only shows one side of the view, so there’s even more to see in person! 👀🏙️

Be sure to check the Richmond City Hall Observation Deck operating hours before you go, then head on up and see RVA from a whole different perspective. 💕✨
