You Need Pie!

9.11.2001. I hope I never forget where I was or how I felt and the unity we had as Americans. It didn’t matter what your party affiliation was on your voter registration card. It didn’t matter what denomination was on the Sunday bulletin. It mattered that we were united as Americans. It mattered that we cared and loved on the families that would have an empty chair at their table forever. Ordinary people like you and me going about their day on Tuesday morning in September forever changed. If you dare listen to the voicemails from passengers on Flight 93 telling their families they loved them and hoped they would get to talk to them again. In those moments it didn’t matter that the life was not always perfect, it mattered that their families knew they loved them. We can speak kindness, show grace and love on each other a lot better these days. Much love and be especially kind to someone today. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. Should I die before I wake, I’ll wish I’d eaten that piece of cake!

When you are a PK it usually means there are extra seats at the Sunday dinner table. Mom always had a special cake. On Saturday evening if one of us ask for a piece she gave it to us. Years into adulthood I ask Mom why she spoiled us by spoiling her beautiful presentation. Her response: “if you had died during the night I would have regretted not letting you have cake.” Live your life with no regrets -EAT THE CAKE! 🎂❤️🎂❤️

Perfect dessert for 4th of July! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Fruit Pizza

Crust
2 c cups of flour
2 sticks of softened butter
1/2 cup of powdered sugar
Blend together and press dough into a greased pizza pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or till golden brown. Let it cool. NOTE: refrigerated sugar cookies is a crust option. Put them close together on your pan. Bake and cool

Filling
8 oz of cream cheese
1 cup of powdered sugar
8 oz of Cool Whip
Beat sugar and cream cheese until smooth. Add Cool Whip at low speed. Spread filling over cooled crust.
Arrange your favorite fruit on top of filling.

Glaze
1 cup of orange juice
1/4 cup of lemon juice
3/4 cup of pineapple juice
1 cup of sugar
3 Tablespoons of corn starch
Mix together and cook until glaze is thick (about five minutes). Pour over arranged fruit and chill. Enjoy!
