Getting prepped up a little for our giveaway today. Of course we won’t do our main pickups until much closer to 2:30 BUT:

🍞Tom did an early bread (and tastee cakes!) run
🥚Marty has 18 dozen duck eggs (!!) to share (in packs of 4, and bring back the carton next week if you can, please…)
🌱Kaitlin has a whole lot of sweet bell pepper 💚 starts to share
🧼Melissa is bringing (not pictured) some hygiene 💖products

~ Respect the limits, needless to say. Don’t be tryna grab 4 body washes 👀. If there are extras, we will reserve for the following week ~

PS if you’re a person with some largesse to share with your community, PM us & then bring what you have to the giveaway (come a bit early so we can be organized). Please don’t bring a bunch of NON-CONSUMABLE stuff and just leave it there, though—clothes, containers, toys, etc—we aren’t a recycling or disposal service and don’t have the ability to be that. Thanks 😊

Hey Community! BIG UPDATE!! Note our schedule change! No Wednesdays.

We are consolidating!!

🥬Our plan is to have ONE BIG GIVEAWAY on Saturdays (2:30 pm).🥬

Things could change, and there is always possibility of popups in case of surprise abundance, but at least for now, our Wednesday giveaways are over. SUMMER SATURDAYS ARE WHERE IT’S AT!

Meanwhile, Fonticello Food Forest, just down the road, is pressing pause on their 3rd Saturdays, while still doing their thing at noon on Wednesdays.

~As always, all are welcome. No ID check, no means testing, no hassle. Come get what you need!~

Hey! Our food giveaway today is over but go help yourself to:

—2 huge bags of parsnips (make mashed parsnips!) … like a cross between a 🥕and 🥔

—several boxes of beautiful fresh baked breads … take some home and wrap in a plastic bag to keep fresh! 🥖

PS heads up, next Saturday there will be a special highlight: around 20 dozen fresh laid DUCK EGGS (packages cut into 4 eggs apiece, they are large eggs) 🥚… thanks to Marnie!!

Good morning, Lettuce fam!

A note about the Garden. Anyone may help yourself to fruit on the trees as they ripen!!

The PLOTS, however, are rented seasonally by fellow community members. Please leave them be.

A number of them weren’t rented this year, so volunteers (Michele & Co.) have been busy planting, planting, planting! Things have actually come a long way already since these pictures below. Leave those plots alone, too. When it’s time to harvest, everything from those plots will be shared with you!!

Please generally be considerate of the space. It is for everyone. Don’t step on plants, don’t leave trash or belongings, and so forth. Basic common sense. Doris in particular works hard on site to keep the Garden nice day to day. Nate had some new benches delivered, and compost. Michael spread the mulch. The shed is thanks to Joe! And so forth. These names don’t belong to garden gnomes and fairies. They’re people just like you. They’re good ones. Let’s all be good ones!

It’s not nice to steal things that are meant to be nice for everyone. Yes, that’s the heart of capitalism but don’t you want to be better than that? We are a COMMUNITY group. Lettuce is not a “private gain and screw everyone else” initiative.

Maybe it was a mistake? Since it was by the tables? The person who planted this basil was planning on sharing it with you, FYI. And the LUFFA! Do you know what luffa / loofah IS?? Hint: you can’t even eat it. So just bring it back. Everyone makes mistakes.

RULE OF THUMB: if it’s not left on the tables, it’s definitely not for you to take.
