Here are 4 rules we swear by when crafting a cheese and charcuterie board…

1) Include Approachable Cheeses- Fancy cheeses are fun and an exciting addition to any board but it’s important to select cheeses that your guests will actually eat. We find that most people prefer mild flavored cheeses, so be sure to include approachable options that all can enjoy.

2) Strategically Arrange Items So They Are Easily Accessible- Be sure to spread items out across your board so that people don’t have to reach across the board to grab them. We like to arrange fruits and cheeses on both sides of a board so that everyone can easily reach them. This is especially important when using long or wide boards.

3) Fill In Empty Spaces- We love boards that that look bountiful and full so we like to fill in all empty spaces. We love filling empty spaces with nuts, blueberries, and dried fruits.

4) Add Texture Whenever Possible- Adding items with a lot of texture helps to make a cheese and charcuterie board more visually appealing. Items like cornichons or the chocolate stroopwafels that were used on this board are great options.
