When I said this is my favorite recipe to make with Goats-R-Us Cheese Camembert (see comments for recipe), I wasn’t joking! The cheese we picked up from Robin at RVA BIG Market this morning didn’t make it 24hrs in my house 🤩 It also gave us an excuse to have meat and cheese for dinner 😉

Thank you to everyone who was able to come out last weekend to get the Shenandoah Community Garden up and running for the season! I especially love seeing the kids excited to get their hands dirty :)

Along with adding compost to the beds and mulching the pathways, we planted tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, carrots, cucumbers, onions, bush beans, corn, and more!

Reminder that you can eat the beautiful, purple chive blossoms! They have the flavor of mild onions, and look nice too!

I cut a bunch of the blossoms and added them to EVOO in one jar and apple cider vinegar in another. In a couple of weeks I think they’ll be perfect for marinades and salad dressings 🥗

You guys!! I just submitted my LAST assignment for my Graduate Certificate in Food Studies through BU!! 📚

It has been such an amazing journey, and it was truly enlightening to learn more about history, the world, and its people through the lens of food. This program encouraged me to learn more about urban agriculture and found the Shenandoah Community Garden. In my final semester (taken at VCU) I’ve started assisting with grant applications, and will hopefully have the opportunity to continue working on a farm-to-school project that will provide more locally sourced foods on campus at VCU.

Good things are coming! I can feel it! But for now, I’m glad to be done writing book reviews and research papers 🤣 Is it too early for a glass of wine?? 🍷 Woohoo!!!
