The choice for 'E' was East Coast Provisions. We really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and yummy food at this Carytown joint on a dreary, wet night. We lucked out with a cozy spot by the fireplace in the small dining nook at the front of the restaurant. ECP is a decent sized place for Carytown with dining and bars on 2 floors and a private room upstairs in the back.
Of course we started off with libations. Nicole had wine (some kind of white) and I had the bourbon basil smash cocktail, delicious. For a starter, we enjoyed the fried Calamari with spring onions & cilantro, tossed with sambal honey lime sauce. Yummy with spicy kick at the end.
For our mains, Nicole had the roasted rockfish with bay leaf polenta, asparagus, arugula, prosciutto, dates, parmesan, lemon. To me it looked like grilled fish with a salad on top and was quite tasty. I had the short rib ragout with gnocchi and ricotta. The ragout was very rich and filling, had to take some home.
ECP was a warm, cozy dining experience with yummy food. A good inspiration for our walk down Cary Street after dinner on a wet, chilly evening. Looking forward to visiting again.
