The coolest thing happened today! Last weekend we purchased 2 wood duck hens for our lone silver wood duck drake. Today, there are 3 wild drakes perched on top of and near their enclosure!

We have Great Pyrenees puppies available!

These are future Livestock guardian dogs. Both parents are currently working on our homestead guarding all of our animals and especially our free range poultry!!

The puppies were born on March 7th and are currently housed with chickens. They have already started the training process!

Mom is a registered but dad is not. Accepting deposits to hold the puppy of your choice.

The Great Pyrenees has been used as a livestock guardian for hundreds of years because of its excellent disposition and its natural guarding instincts. This dog can be extremely aggressive toward predators, but is also a wonderful companion to gentle and helpless small animals like chickens.

We have some new babies!

Our break from milking is officially over! Check out the color difference from our jersey cow. This is day 3 so she still has colostrum. She gave us close to 1.5 gallons with her first milking. We are choosing to calf share which means, she will still get to have her calf by her side but has more than enough milk to provide for our family as well. When she is still producing colostrum, it’s great to freeze or dehydrate/freeze dry to keep on hand if anyone is ill or if we need to supplement a weak calf. The white milk in the photo is from a mostly Holstein local dairy farm. ♥️

We’ve had a busy day on the farm today!

Shelly, our family milk cow had her second baby today and 4 hours later we got another surprise from Blossom! Blossom needed a little help but thankfully Kris has nerves of steel and stepped up to the plate!

Both babies are from our mini Hereford bull “Hank”.
