The 10 litter(late December) is from our sow we call Riley. Riley was purchased from the Wendt dispersal sale last spring. Riley was the 2023 High points Berkshire Gilt on the OH pigs circuit. She was numerous time Grand Champion Berk Gilt along with multiple top 5 Overall breeding gilt.

Riley’s pedigree reads About Time x Groomsman (Austin & Ken Lane) and We bred her to Good times at Southern Gold. Heck of a match up. Clean fronted freak necked powerhouse Berks that move like a 🐈!

Jeremy Cantrell gave all of us an important reminder during his final drive speech at the Ohio State Fair. It’s easy to get caught up in which pig we thought should have won, or where the one that did could have been better. Maybe we start to focus a little much on dollars, banners, and image, that we lose sight of the real reason we all do this.

The livestock is just the vehicle to raise our kids. Our industry doesn’t exist without the kids. Let’s keep the focus on them.
