Look who was at the Farmers Market!

Mother Nature has shined on the orchard this week and we were able to harvest Ludacrisp, Evercrisp and more yellow Delicious apples today. We will be pressing more c***r Friday to fill orders already placed. if you would like some it’s not to late just text 937-597-3574 to be included.
Hours will be from noon to 7 on Friday October 9th. A reminder Marysville Farmers Market are over for the season. Our formal hours to be open are Wednesday and Fridays from Noon to 7, as long as apples last. As always if we are at the orchard working we are open. Feel free to text or call ahead.

Area orchards are all picking apples about 2 week earlier than is normal this season. This means apples you may plan to have in November and for Thanksgiving pies will be avaliable this month. The good news is all thes late apples are good keepers which means they store well for 90 days plus. This includes, Pink Ladys, Goldrush, Fuji and Evercrisp.

We want to thank all those folks that supported us at both Farmers Markets this year. It’s quite the social event for us to see all our friends this market season. We are happy to load up our produce and bring it into the market. Now don’t forget us and come out to the orchard for a visit.

Good soggy Friday morning. This is a second attempt to post this morning. It’s National Apple month so let’s celebrate …..but wait it’s also National custodial worker month…… thanks to all the mothers, wives and girlfriends out there……..

Hours today are (Friday) October 2 noon to 7. Tomorrow is Marysville Farmers Market last day. Our future hours will be based on apple ripening. Mother Nature needs to shine on orchard for our next apples to ripen. Therefore we will be closed Monday and Wednesday opening Friday noon to 7 October 9 th.

Currently we have Golden Delicious and Cameo apples. Sales have been good and our apple crop is light due to severe winter weather.
Our next apples will be Fuji, Evercrisp and Ludacrisp. After that Pink Ladys and Gold Rush.

We will be pressing a small amount of c***r today. Call or better text if you would like to reserve c***r. 937-597-3574.
The “Early Bird gets the worm”

As always we have local honey, bees wax candles, creamed honey and also a pet bee. Our girls (worker bees or custotial workers) set a record this year. 4,135 lbs of honey. They were pleased with management and worked all overtime requested.

Late orchard update today Friday September 11 Noon to 7.

Saturday Marysville Market Hours are 8:30 to 11:30. We have Crimson Crisp Apples, Pixy Crunch, Fuji, MacIntosch, Price $10 per 1/2 peck.

C***r will be available in pints, 1/2 gal and Gallons.
Assortment of pure bees wax candies and bees wax will be on display.
As always honey in all sizes up to 1 gal.
Next apples to pick looks like yellow Delicious, depending on Mother Nature.
Attached is a bee swarm we caught on Labor Day, Fun in the back yard.

What’s happening at Bokes Creek Orchard this week. Now that the wet weather is over does anyone else have an abundance of mosquitoes? When you see me next ask to see my bites while I was picking your apples. Oh yes and the bee stings. This has become a high risk occupation/Passion/Hobby.

As usual hours today September 4th is noon to 7:00 ish. Apple varieties avaliable now are Honeycrisp, MacIntosch, Crimson Crisp, Fuji and Pixy Crunch, We also have a limited amount of c***r in 1/2 gallons and pints avaliable today and at the Marysville Farmers Market tomorrow (Saturday, Sept 5}.
Our Gallon jugs are being delivered next week and we will be pressing over 100 gallons of c***r on Thursday for the Festifair Art & Craft Fair September 12 next Saturday.
You may want to place your order ahead by text or calling , 937-597-3574.
Our next apples to pick will be Red & Yellow Delicious apples.

We also have Honey available in 4 oz. Squeeze bottles to 1 gal jugs.

August 27 Bokes Creek Orchard update. we will be at the Richwood Farmers Market today and Marysville Market Saturday with apples honey and a limited amount of c***r. We usually don’t start pressing this early but with out peaches to pick and a few c***r apples ready we pulled the trigger.

Apple supply is limited this week but next week we will be picking Honeycrisp, Daybreak Fuji, Crimson Crisp and pears.

Due to crazy wet weather we have apples that have dropped prematurely so as a result we have deer apples avaliable. We will have them thru the fall as varieties ripen . Please call or text sold by request.

Back to school means lunchboxes are getting packed, teachers are getting spoiled, and we have apples ready!

Fresh-picked apples make the perfect lunchbox snack for the kids, an after-school treat, or a little something sweet for the teacher.

And if Rhett approves, I’m sure your kids will too!

We’re picking Gala & Macintosh apples this week with a limited amount of Honeycrisp ready in a week or so.

Bokes Creek Orchard update. We are now picking Gala & MacIntosh apples this week. The heat seems to be speeding up ripening up a bit. A limited amount of Honeycrisp are next in a week or so.
Our honey harvest are about over for the season it’s time to let the bees build up there honey stores to get thru the winter. They need about 100 pounds per hive. We have about 50 hives so do the math, that’s a lot of honey left in the field for them but you can’t get greedy!
We miss not having peaches this year as you do but we are busy summer pruning and careing for the trees that must continue.
Orchard hours for now are 12 noon till 7:00 Monday Wednesday and Friday. We will be at the Richwood Farmers Market from 4 to 7 on Thursday at Richwood Lake Park Shelter House. As always we will be at Marysville Farmers Market on Saturday 8:30 till 11:30, at Partners Park corner or 6th and Main.
Just FYI the apple crop is light this year due to winter weather this year. Many orchards are suffering as a result. So our attendance at the markets are dependent on crop availability. Feel free to call or text ahead, 937-597-3574.

Playing catch up sharing orchard activity’s during the off season (Really never an off season). your eyes are not playing tricks on you this video was taken about a month ago. The ”One Two Punch” Cole & Synjin getting it done. This may or may not be a “Redneck Operation”

Clearing out trees I planted 30 years ago are now shading the orchard. providing nice brush pile habitat for rabbits this winter. Couldn’t do it with out their help.

Good morning from Bokes Creek Orchard. It’s cold and lots of snow but we’ve decided to add a new product to our line up. Were new at this but decided to tap some trees for maple syrup. Were tapped and ready for the first warm up for the sap to start flowing. We will be selling our finished product one day only on April 1st ….. this traditionally important day. Enjoy the pictures. These long winter days are having a effect on me!
