Good morning all, finally posting a long over due orchard update. As many of you have heard we lost our peach crop due to -15 below temperatures which froze off the fruit buds. The trees are fine but no crop this summer. Apples crop looks good but is also a light crop. Our first apples will be Honeycr, Gala & MacIntosch.
We have started harvesting our spring honey and getting our business restocked after selling out. We should have Mosiers IGA in Raymond , Union Station Marysville, Mini Mart Richwood, & Coffee Hall stocked by the end of this week. As always stop by the orchard .
We look forward to seeing folks this season, we have made some improvement to the apple barn and have even planted a few more peach trees that are a new winter hardy stock.
We are managing about 50 bee hives so hope to improve our inventory this year, Mother Nature and the girls willing.
As soon as we have apples we will be attending the Marysville Farmers Market on Saturday morning and the Richwood Market on Thursdays. We will post out orchard hours when we have apples avaliable.
We are happy to report Cole & Synjin are back helping us this summer as John is moving a lot slower these days. And of course Tonya is spinning the honey, bottling and cracking the whip keeping us moving …… “Break Time Over, back to work”.
Any questions feel free to call or text 937-597-3574. Texting is always better may have my head in a bee hive or up in a tree.
See you all soon.
