We have been getting calls for apples and pears. We have been shut down since just after labor day as usual. No fruit available, we can't control what other website say.

Hazelnuts were once a major crop in Clark County, WA and Baurs Corner Farm is bringing them back. We planted 24 acres of hazelnuts in 2018 and are gearing up for our third commercial harvest this year. Join us for a demonstration of how hazelnuts are machine harvested and hear from the OSU Extension Service and a major hazelnut packer, who will discuss the present and future state of the hazelnut industry.

Got some slomo of the nuts flying out of the harvester! Farm fun, lots to fix, Getzumall broke a chain, the "Family Jewell" carb needle was leaking gas on to the exhaust pipe, one sweeper starter died, the other one belt had to be tightened, the bin camera failed, spark plug wire slipped out of the distributor on a sweeper and caused misfire. All part of the fun running 50 year old equipment.

25,000 pounds of Wepster first harvest, now waiting for more to drop! After first harvest pass on both varieties we almost have the total from last year! Hope the price is just as good! The 85 year old "Family Jewell" ran for the hour it took to load the 19 bins. Can't quite comprehend how we did over 1,200 bins of pears on our best year!

Loaded 16 bins on the truck, my guess is 21,000 pounds from the first harvest of McDonalds. Wepsters next, then repeat. Last year total was 50,000 pounds so we are off to a good start! Burning fuel harvesting, got a diesel quote of $6.80/gallon delivered farm off road diesel. $175 in fuel to harvest half the orchard!
