Orthos has used this time during COVID-19 to develop a structurally-superior, relatively-quick installation, “bolt-down” SST underdrain that solves the poor distribution issues of triangular lateral types. The end result is effectively a steel plate underdrain 6” off the floor with nozzles 6” OCEW, much like that in many pressure vessels and package filters. Combined air-water backwash is built into the system via the Orthos Type D nozzle tailpipes, similar to our Centurion™ monolithic underdrain design.

MAXIMUS™ features a low, 6” profile that provides increased filter media depth or operational freeboard in retrofit applications.

Tim Baumgartner, P.E., Head Engineer for Orthos, was recognized for over 25 years of exemplary service to The MATHCOUNTS Foundation. Over this time, Tim has served as the Savannah Chapter MATHCOUNTS Coordinator, State of Georgia Coordinator, and the National MATHCOUNTS Task Force Chairman. He was honored to be recognized, but stated, “It’s about the Mathletes and their coaches who participate in the competition each year.” He added, “I hope the MATHCOUNTS experience has helped the participants with their future endeavors.” Orthos Liquid Systems congratulates Tim on this accomplishment and is proud to support his continued endeavors with MATHCOUNTS.
