Guided by conceptual ideas of shade, wind, immigrant flora, and diasporic ecological and ancestral knowledge, this performance/installation, taking place in the heart of the Island at Liggett Terrace, brings together nonprofit organizations, food and drink storytellers, herbalists,
tea practitioners, musicians, and many other like-minded communities and partners to share a moment of joy and resilience.

Happy Nowruz 🌱

Nowruz is, at its heart, a celebration of life — of renewal, of rebirth, and the quiet promise that brighter days always return.

This year, that meaning feels heavier. We have lost many in our country, and many more are living in fear, facing uncertainty about what tomorrow will bring. And yet, as the earth renews itself, so do we — holding on to hope and to one another.

We renew our promise to never forget their names, and to stand in solidarity with all those resisting oppression and destruction.

On this day, we hold close what it has always meant — resilience, renewal, and the belief that even after the darkest winter, spring returns.
