As the day winds down at Smeds Farmhouse, we're reminded just how blessed we are. Looking to the east and to the west, we're greeted with two breathtaking views—both stunning paintings from God.
Last night, our livestock guardian dog, Spud, earned his keep once again. At not even a year old, he successfully warded off his second bear. With chicken processing day just two days away, we can't help but think about what could have happened if he hadn't been there to protect the flock.
Life on the farm isn't always easy. There are long days, unexpected challenges, and plenty of moments that don't go as planned. But those moments also remind us to be grateful—for faithful animals, for the opportunity to care for this land, and for the incredible beauty God surrounds us with every day.
Tonight, we're thankful for Spud, thankful for our farm, and thankful for these beautiful reminders to look up and count our blessings! 🌅🙏🐾
