District III nominations will soon be open and I, Stephanie Trout. ADGA ID # 1731924, would like your nomination.
Like many other ADGA members I have paid attention to the struggles and successes of ADGA over the past few years. My nature is not to sit back and watch but to find out how I can help. Today I am calling on you to nominate me for District III Director.
Why do I want to be your District III Director? I want to:
-Bring the District III memberships questions to the table,
-Continue to improve communications and transparency between members and the association, and
-Most importantly I want the members and ADGA to be successful in the dairy goat industry. The only way to succeed is as an engaged, collaborative team that works together.
What experience do I have?
-Currently I serve on several ADGA committees, where I review items presented, give feedback, and come prepared for discussion. It is through my learning and volunteering on these committees which gives me the drive to learn more as Director and continue to give back to the association.
-Myself and family participate in all facets of ADGA: breeding, milk testing, linear appraisal, and show at the state, regional, and national level.
-Serve as Vice President of the newly constituted Dairy Goat Society of Virginia which in its first year put on an ADGA sanctioned two ring show, AI clinic, and buck collection. Showing my commitment to not only volunteer but to be engaged and proactive on moving ideas forward to reality as a team.
-In my day job I work in compliance so I have a full understanding of rules, regulations, processes, working with stakeholders, and customer service through timely engagement and clear communication/education.
How do I plan to be successful? I will:
-Listen,
-Research/question, and
-Be Transparent.
A little about me:
My family and I started our venture into dairy goats in 2017. Like so many other families we originally started in 4-H but quickly realized in the first year that we enjoyed showing and wanted to be more involved in ADGA. Since then we have grown our ADGA herd to include Nigerian dwarfs and a small herd of Lamanchas and one Guernsey/Alpine cross.
My hope and goals with this nomination, like with my current committees, is to learn more and volunteer my time to strive to continue to improve and support ADGA and the members. A key piece as a director is to gather information from the members and ADGA so as to best understand the question, history, and bring a voice for the members to the table.
Serving District III members would be an honor and privilege that I would not take lightly. Being present and engaged is key in this role and willing to listen to all sides and research for the best solutions.
Please consider nominating me to represent you as your ADGA District III Director.
Thank you,
Stephanie Trout
